An important indicator of down--Down Content
The proportion of down balls in the down is called "down content" (down jacket standards call it "down content"). For example, a down content of 90% means that in 100g of down, there are 90g of down balls and 10g of feather. For the same batch of down, the higher the down content, the greater the value.
"Down content" refers to the percentage of down and down filaments in feathers and down.
"Down balls content" does not include down filaments, but refers to the percentage of down. In the new national standard, it is clearly required that the down content of down jackets should not be less than 50%.
Down content VS down content
Down content is the term used in the new national standard, while the early national standard used down content.
The early "down content" refers to the percentage of down and down filaments in the entire down jacket. Among them, down includes down, immature down, similar down, and damaged down; down filaments refer to single down filaments that fall off from the roots of down or feathers.
For example: a down jacket with a down content of 90% has a feather content of 10%.
The new national standard changes the down content to down content, which refers to the mass percentage of down in down feathers. In the new national standard, the standard for down content is better than the standard for down content, and the new national standard clearly requires that the down content of down jackets should not be less than 90%
